Our project is based on the idea that different types of housing unit contribute to the creation of a sense of community through the merging of difference. We would like the residents to identify with their living space and for this to become a culturally lively place for meeting and socialising.

The pre-existent Lombard farmhouse, which was refurbished and incorporated in our design, is the lot’s first and foremost identifying element, revealing the space’s hybrid status between the dense urban landscape and the nearby agricultural park.

The estate is composed of three architectural masses, which run along a central, grassy area connected to the farmhouse.

Local stores and common areas are located along the grassy inner court.

In the large garden running along the southern front we designed play areas and vegetable patches.

The interior layout is extremely flexible and the housing units can be combined, allowing the tenants to customise their living space.
